Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join the Children in Need (CIN) Team in Leicester City .

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social worker to join a busy and supportive service, working with children and families across Leicester City.

The Role

As a Children's Social Worker within the CIN Team, you will manage a caseload of approximately 20 children and families , undertaking assessments, planning and intervention to promote positive outcomes for children.

The team is currently experiencing significant demand, particularly around court work and child protection , so candidates must have strong and demonstrable experience in these areas.

• Managing a caseload of approximately 20 cases.
• Undertaking Child in Need assessments and reviews.
• Completing child protection assessments, planning and interventions.
• Undertaking statutory visits and ensuring children are seen regularly.
• Working with children and families to identify risks, strengths and appropriate support.
• Preparing reports and presenting information for court proceedings.
• Working alongside partner agencies as part of a multi-disciplinary approach.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records.
• Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
• Ensuring work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ permanent post-qualifying experience as a Children's Social Worker to be considered for this role. Candidates must also have:

• A Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
• At least 3 years' permanent post-qualifying Social Work experience.
• Strong experience within Children's Services.
• Recent experience of Child Protection work.
• Experience of court work and public law proceedings.
• Experience managing a complex caseload.
• Strong assessment, intervention and report-writing skills.
• The ability to work effectively with children, families and partner agencies.

Working Arrangements

The role operates on a hybrid working basis .

The team generally likes social workers to be office-based on Tuesdays and Wednesdays , although any additional office days will be agreed with the Team Manager.

Standard office hours are

Monday - Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm

There may occasionally be a requirement to work outside these hours where necessary, particularly in relation to urgent tasks or duty responsibilities.

Cases will generally be located within Leicester City , although there may occasionally be children placed further afield.

Parking - Locum workers can use the local car parks used by staff , with parking expenses claimable in accordance with the relevant arrangements.
