The predicted salary is between 60 - 60 £ per hour.
Location: London Borough Council, Central London.
Rate: £50‑£60ph umbrella / £53.28ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £47.54ph PAYE exc. holiday pay
Contract: 36 per week, 3 months with possibility of extension. Please note that this role would require office attendance 1 day per week.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of public law childcare proceedings, including care applications, PLO matters, adoption, special guardianship and other child protection cases.
- Provide legal advice and support to Children's Social Care, including attendance at Legal Planning Meetings (LPMs) and safeguarding panels.
- Conduct case management from instruction through to conclusion, ensuring compliance with Lexcel standards and internal service requirements.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with a current practising certificate and rights of audience/conduct of litigation.
- Minimum 2 years' local authority childcare law experience, with strong knowledge of care proceedings, DOLS, secure accommodation applications, adoption, discharge applications, disclosure and redaction work.
- Confident managing a busy caseload independently; advocacy experience is advantageous but not essential.
