Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Adult Safeguarding Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team at Medway Council on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dedicated adult social care team, managing a varied safeguarding caseload and making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable adults across Medway.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload within the Adult Safeguarding Team.
- Complete high-quality, person-centred, strength-based assessments and interventions.
- Undertake face-to-face visits and promote positive outcomes for adults with care and support needs.
- Work in accordance with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, Human Rights and Equality legislation.
- Apply the Making Safeguarding Personal approach in all safeguarding interventions.
- Conduct robust multi-agency risk assessments and develop effective safeguarding plans.
- Work collaboratively with adults, families, carers and partner agencies to promote independence, wellbeing and safety.
- Prepare clear and concise reports for strategy meetings, safeguarding enquiries and court proceedings.
- Maintain accurate records and effectively manage competing demands within a busy safeguarding environment.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Experience working within Adult Safeguarding services.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act.
- Ability to undertake strength-based assessments and safeguarding enquiries.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS preferred.
