Our client, a leading Local Authority, is currently looking to appoint an experienced Site Supervisor to support the delivery of a major £49.6m East Lancashire Levelling Up Programme. The programme includes a range of public realm and safety improvements across residential areas and town centres throughout East Lancashire. As a Site Supervisor, you will work alongside Project Managers to help deliver a challenging construction programme in line with Department for Transport timelines. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Supervisor with a strong background in highway construction, NEC contracts and site-based project delivery to play a key role in a major programme of infrastructure improvements.

The Role

As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of construction works across the programme, acting as the NEC Supervisor and working closely with Project Managers, construction partners, stakeholders and other third parties. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking the role of NEC Supervisor
  • Supporting and assisting NEC Project Managers
  • Undertaking responsibilities associated with CDM 2015
  • Coordinating with third parties involved in the works
  • Facilitating effective communication with stakeholders
  • Supporting the preparation of contract documents and Works Information for tendering
  • Working closely with construction partners to proactively manage quality
  • Monitoring and reporting on construction and quality issues
  • Identifying potential construction issues or areas where the Scope lacks clarity
  • Providing design support where required
  • Supporting the delivery of the wider construction programme across East Lancashire

You’ll ideally have:

  • Extensive knowledge of highway design and construction
  • Good knowledge of relevant highway standards
  • Experience working with NEC Engineering and Construction Contracts
  • A strong understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations
  • Understanding of the responsibilities of the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor
  • Good knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act
  • Understanding of the commercial aspects of contract management
  • Knowledge of Local Authority financing mechanisms
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A customer-focused approach
  • Previous experience in site-based project management
  • Experience supervising or managing staff
  • A HND, HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline would be desirable.
