We are currently recruiting for experienced Substance Misuse Recovery Workers to join services across Lancashire on an initial 3β6 month contract, with the potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced recovery worker who is passionate about supporting individuals to overcome substance misuse and make positive, sustainable changes in their lives.
Location: Lancashire. Contract: 3β6 months. Hours: Full-time. Pay per hour: Β£24.00. Umbrella - Β£21.20 PAYE. Inclusive of holiday pay: Β£18.92 PAYE exclusive of holiday pay.
The Role
As a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, you will provide effective, person-centred support to individuals affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse. You will work closely with service users to assess their needs, develop recovery plans and support them throughout their recovery journey. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of service users with substance misuse issues.
- Completing assessments and developing individualised recovery plans.
- Providing one-to-one interventions and ongoing recovery support.
- Supporting service users to reduce or stop their substance use and achieve positive outcomes.
- Working collaboratively with health, social care, criminal justice and other partner agencies.
- Supporting individuals with relapse prevention and harm reduction.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records.
- Identifying safeguarding concerns and following appropriate procedures.
- Encouraging service users to engage with appropriate treatment and support services.
- Promoting independence, wellbeing and sustained recovery.
About You
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Previous experience working within the substance misuse sector β essential.
- Experience supporting individuals affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse.
- Knowledge of recovery-focused and harm-reduction approaches.
- Experience managing a caseload and maintaining accurate case records.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
- A non-judgemental, empathetic and person-centred approach.
