Bradford Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker within Children in Care. This role involves managing complex caseloads, leading on permanency planning, and delivering high-quality, child-centred practice. The position offers a 13-month contract with competitive pay and the opportunity to work within supportive and experienced teams, with a hybrid working model that balances flexibility with service and team requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans
- Manage and lead complex cases involving children in care
- Progress permanency planning, including long-term placements and court work where required
- Work effectively within multi-agency partnerships (education, health, safeguarding, legal services)
- Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced social workers
- Maintain accurate, high-quality case recordings in line with statutory requirements
- Ensure all interventions promote safeguarding, stability, and positive long-term outcomes
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children’s Services
- Strong background in Children in Care or safeguarding teams
- Confident managing complex cases and court proceedings
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Flexibility to attend the office when required
