An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Performance and Insight Business Partner to join a leading housing organisation. You will provide high-quality performance reporting, research and insight that supports strategic decision-making, service improvement and operational excellence.

The Role

As Performance and Insight Business Partner, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand their performance reporting, research and insight requirements. You will translate complex data and research findings into clear, practical recommendations for operational teams, senior leaders, Board members and committees.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of performance reports, dashboards, scorecards and executive briefings
  • Analysing performance against targets, trends and sector benchmarks
  • Identifying emerging risks, opportunities and areas requiring management attention
  • Translating complex quantitative and qualitative information into accessible and actionable insight
  • Providing evidence-based recommendations that support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Working with service leads and data owners to develop meaningful performance indicators
  • Leading customer research, analytical and data-related projects
  • Managing relationships with external partners and account managers
  • Keeping projects on track, both with and without dedicated project management support
  • Supporting regulatory and statutory reporting, ensuring evidence is accurate and deadlines are met
  • Validating and quality-assuring performance information
  • Working with data owners and data-quality colleagues to improve the accuracy and integrity of organisational data
  • Representing Performance and Insight within organisation-wide projects
  • Supporting service improvement and research projects across the organisation

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have substantial experience within performance reporting, business intelligence, data analysis, research or a closely related discipline. You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience of translating complex data and technical concepts into clear recommendations
  • Experience of undertaking and managing both qualitative and quantitative research
  • Experience of leading customer research, data or analytical projects
  • Confidence working with technology, ICT teams and data-related projects
  • Strong experience of developing dashboards, scorecards, performance frameworks and management reports
  • The ability to analyse trends, explain performance variations and identify emerging risks
  • Experience of managing relationships with external partners, suppliers or account managers
  • The ability to coordinate projects and keep delivery on track
  • Confidence influencing, advising and constructively challenging senior stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience using reporting and data-visualisation tools
  • Power BI experience is highly desirable
  • A good understanding of data quality, confidentiality and responsible information management
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, corporate governance, risk management and regulatory reporting
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and reporting deadlines
  • A relevant qualification or equivalent practical experience in data analysis, business intelligence, statistics or performance management
  • Experience delivering high-quality services within a customer-focused environment
  • Knowledge of the social housing sector and its regulatory environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
