Deputy Manager – Children's Residential

We're recruiting for Deputy Managers to join established children's residential services across Stoke-on-Trent and Trafford.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or existing Deputy Manager who is ready to take on greater responsibility and progress their career within children's residential care.

The Role

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you'll play a key role in the successful day-to-day running of the home and the delivery of high-quality care.

You'll provide leadership to the residential team while ensuring the young people living in the service receive consistent, safe and nurturing support.

  • Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home.
  • Leading, motivating and supporting the residential team.
  • Ensuring young people receive high-quality, child-centred care.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
  • Supporting the management of challenging and complex behaviours.
  • Contributing to care plans, risk assessments and placement planning.
  • Maintaining strong safeguarding and child protection practice.
  • Supporting staff supervision, development and performance.
  • Assisting with recruitment, induction and training.
  • Monitoring standards of care and ensuring records are maintained.
  • Supporting regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Taking responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence.

About You

We're looking for an experienced children's residential professional who is ready to step into, or continue developing within, a management position.

  • Previous experience within children's residential care.
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex emotional or behavioural needs.
  • Previous Senior, Team Leader or Deputy Manager experience.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • The ability to lead, motivate and develop a residential care team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A calm, resilient and solution-focused approach.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • Relevant qualifications within children's residential care, ideally Level 3 or above , with further management qualifications advantageous.
