Overview
Litter Picker (Streetscene Operative) – Temporary Contract, 2 Weeks
Service Care Solutions is recruiting for a Litter Picker to join our client’s busy Streetscene team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining clean public spaces, and wants an immediate start. The contract is temporary for 2 weeks, with the role running until the end of January 2027 (as required by the service).
Responsibilities
- Carry out litter picking and general cleansing duties across parks and open spaces
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with set schedules
- Conduct visual inspections of children’s playground equipment and safety surfaces
- Report any defects or hazards to the relevant teams promptly
- Support other operational teams during peak periods
- Ensure public safety and enforce byelaws with professionalism and tact
- Drive work vehicles (vans/tippers) to transport equipment, materials, and waste
- Complete basic maintenance checks on equipment

Pay
- £13.45 per hour PAYE
- £17.33 per hour Umbrella (including holiday pay)
Requirements
- Full UK manual driving licence (Category B or C1)
- Confidence driving vehicles up to 3.5 tons (vans/tippers)
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit, reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Training and Start
Training and checks will be provided where required, and immediate starts are available (first come, first served).
