Our client is currently recruiting for an Assistant Occupational Therapist to join a Reablement Team on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping individuals regain their independence and improve their quality of life following illness, injury, or a change in their circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Assist Occupational Therapists with functional assessments and reablement interventions
- Support the delivery of person-centred reablement plans to enable individuals to regain daily living skills
- Provide guidance on the safe use of equipment, aids, and minor adaptations
- Monitor and record service user progress, reporting any changes or concerns appropriately
- Work closely with service users, families, carers, and healthcare professionals
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice at all times
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety policies and procedures
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working within health, social care, or a rehabilitation setting
- Understanding of occupational therapy principles or reablement services
- Full UK driving licence with access to a car for work purposes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and record-keeping abilities
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in a community-based role
- Knowledge of moving and handling techniques
- Familiarity with local authority or NHS service delivery models
