You’ll play a key role in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, mentoring less experienced staff, and ensuring every child in your care receives the best possible start.

What we're looking for

  • A Level 6 qualification in Early Years (e.g. BA Hons Early Childhood Studies, Early Years Teacher Status, EYPS, or equivalent)
  • An Early Years degree or equivalent recognised by the DfE as Full and Relevant Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with early years experience
  • A Level 5 qualification working towards Level 6 may also be considered for the right candidate

  • Experience leading a room, key group, or curriculum area
  • Confidence mentoring or supervising junior staff
  • A warm, child-centred approach with excellent communication skills
  • Paediatric First Aid (desirable, training can be provided)
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

What you'll be doing

  • Acting as a key person for a group of children, building strong relationships with families
  • Observing, assessing, and recording children's progress and next steps
  • Supporting and mentoring Level 2 and Level 3 practitioners
  • Championing safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusive practice across the setting
  • Working closely with parents, carers, and external professionals (SENCO, health visitors, etc.)
