Service Care Solutions is working alongside a growing local authority, based in Berkshire, which is seeking a Principal Childcare Solicitor to join their team and provide critical support to the Strategic Lead for Children’s Law. ROLE: Principal Childcare Solicitor
UMBRELLA RATE: £55-£60ph
PAYE Inc. (Hol) RATE: £48.41 - £52.76ph
CONTRACT LENGTH: 3 months ongoing
Key responsibilities involved with the Principal Childcare Solicitor role:
- Supervising a dedicated team of child protection lawyers.
- Managing a caseload of child protection cases including care proceedings, DOLS, inherent jurisdiction, EPOs.
- Advising and representing Children’s Services including attending a weekly legal surgery.
- Advising strategy and procedure relating to Child Care issues.
Key Requirements:
- A qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive with 5+ years of PQE in childcare law.
- Strong technical knowledge of child care law, including care proceedings, DOLS, inherent jurisdiction, and EPOs.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor a team of lawyers.
