Service Care Solutions is working with a growing Local Authority, based in Norfolk, which is seeking an experienced SEND Lawyer to join their legal team on a locum basis. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with strong experience across all aspects of SEND law who can confidently manage tribunal work.
Role: SEND Lawyer
Location: Norfolk - Local Authority
Contract Length: 3 month rolling contract
Umbrella Rate: £49.82ph
PAYE Inc. Rate: £43.91ph
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling a full caseload of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Managing and conducting SEND Tribunal cases, including preparation and advocacy where appropriate.
- Providing legal advice to the council’s education and SEND services.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to manage tribunal strategy and case progression.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX with significant SEND law experience, ideally within a local authority legal team.
- Proven experience running SEND Tribunals independently.
- Strong knowledge across all aspects of SEND work, particularly Section I matters.
Benefits:
- Hybrid working – ideally at least every Friday and this is mandated for the last Friday of each month.
- Weekly pay – the rate offered will depend on experience and interview performance.
- Flexible hours.
