Service Care Solutions are working alongside Coventry City Council who are looking for a technically minded Insurance Manager to join their team on a temporary contract. Please find a description of the role below.Role: Insurance ManagerLocation: CoventryRate: £400-£450 per day (umbrella/ltd)Contract: 6 months on goingWorking: Hybrid, Full-time (minimum 1-2 days)Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Council’s insurance portfolio, ensuring appropriate cover is in place
- Provide expert insurance advice across departments, including Legal and Procurement.
- Lead the Council’s response to insurance claims and manage a small claims team.
- Ensure accurate financial provisions and reserves for claims.
- Lead the review and reporting of the Corporate Risk Register to senior leadership.
- Support service areas with risk management guidance and register reviews.
- Chartered Insurance Institute qualified or relevant experience
- Experience in or with local authorities.
- Skilled at building relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Confident in providing strategic and operational advice on insurance and risk.
- A strong leader with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
