Location: West Yorkshire

Contract: Temporary (4 months initial)

Salary: £400 per day umbrella / £352.07 per day PAYE Inclusive / £314.15 PAYE Exclusive

Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in West Yorkshire for a Financial Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will be required to lead and support the production and delivery of statutory accounts, annual revenue and capital budgets, and in-year monitoring, forecasting, and reporting, while driving the development of effective financial management tools and reports to support corporate objectives. Ensure the Authority remains fully compliant with all relevant financial standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver year-end close down process
  • Prepare and support the completion of Statement of Accounts
  • Provide hands-on technical support during a busy period.
  • Review coding and financial reporting relating to budgets, KPIs and Statement of Accounts in compliance with relevant guidelines.
  • Support the authority in achieving its vision by designing, implementing and maintaining systems required for objectives delivery
  • Work closely with internal finance teams to support statutory reporting deadlines
Candidate Criteria
  • Qualified accountant and proven experience of year-end close down and Statement of Accounts in a local authority.
  • Ability to hit the ground running with minimal guidance
  • Recent experience in leading year-end production of Statement of Accounts in a local authority.
  • Strong management and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
