 Job Title: Carpenter  – Trades and Operations Location: Within Southampton City boundaryPay Rate: £21.00 per hourHours: 37 hours per weekVan Provided | Uniform & PPE Supplied About the Role:We are currently recruiting for a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join the Housing Operations team for a local authority. This role involves carrying out a wide range of construction and property maintenance tasks across council properties within the city boundary.You will be provided with a van, uniform, and PPE, and will be expected to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service in both occupied and vacant properties. Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing a variety of carpentry tasks and general property maintenance
  • Working independently across different council housing sites
  • Carrying out small works in other trade disciplines when required
  • Liaising with residents, colleagues, and supervisors in a professional and respectful manner
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience working for a housing association or local council is essential
  • Strong carpentry skills and confidence in delivering multi-trade work
  • Experience with UPVC installation and general property maintenance is advantageous
  • Self-motivated, with strong communication and customer service skills
  • A practical understanding of the construction and maintenance industry
