Are you an experienced Mental Health Practitioner looking for an immediate contract opportunity? We are currently seeking a dedicated Band 6 CAMHS MHP to join a busy CAMHS team in Rochdale. This is a fantastic chance to work within the public sector on a full-time basis, providing vital mental health assessments and interventions for children and young people.
About the Role:
As a Band 6 CAMHS MHP, you will join a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality mental health support to children and adolescents with moderate to severe needs. The role involves conducting comprehensive CAMHS assessments, including neurodevelopmental assessments for ADHD and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). Your expertise will help in shaping care plans and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
Candidate Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality CAMHS mental health assessments for children and young people.
- Plan and deliver therapeutic interventions, both individually and within the multidisciplinary team.
- Manage and prioritize your caseload effectively.
- Contribute to risk management and safeguarding strategies.
- Liaise with external professionals and agencies to coordinate care pathways.
- Participate in the CAMHS emergency duty rota, including occasional weekend work.
- Support service development through supervision, training, and routine outcome monitoring.
Candidate Requirements
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Social Worker, or Allied Health Professional (HCPC/NMC registered).
- Significant post-qualification experience in community mental health or CAMHS.
- Proven ability to conduct mental health assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions.
- Strong multi-agency working skills and experience managing complex caseloads.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Own transport to travel across the Trust area.
- Experience with neurodevelopmental assessments is desirable.
- Additional training (CBT, DBT, Family Therapy) is a plus.
