Service Care Solutions are working with a clinician-led independent mental health provider expanding its Autism Assessment Service due to exceptionally high demand. This service delivers thorough, evidence-based autism assessments for adults across the UK, combining strong clinical governance with a neuro-affirming, patient-centred approach.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist confident leading the full autism assessment pathway end-to-end. Work is available remotely (UK-wide), in-person in Leeds, or via a hybrid model, offering flexible sessional arrangements and a consistent referral flow.

Job Purpose: ADOS Assessor (Psychologist)

Pay: £350 LTD per virtual Assessment, £400 per on site, Outside IR35

Bonus: £250 Welcome Bonus, paid via Service Care Solutions

Location: Remote (In-Person, Leeds clinic)

Working Hours: Monday to Sunday, Flexible Hours

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive autism diagnostic assessments in line with recognised diagnostic frameworks (DSM/ICD)
  • Lead the full pathway including clinical interview, functional impact, developmental history, and collateral information review
  • Interpret screening tools and psychometrics (e.g. RAADS-R, CAT-Q, AQ-50) as part of formulation
  • Undertake structured behavioural observation, including ADOS-2 Module 4 where trained and indicated
  • Consider differential diagnoses and co-occurring mental health presentations
  • Produce high-quality, evidence-based diagnostic reports with clear rationale and practical recommendations
  • Deliver sensitive feedback sessions including psychoeducation and signposting
  • Work within robust clinical governance, safeguarding, and information governance standards

Requirements:

  • HCPC-registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
  • Demonstrable experience independently completing autism assessments end-to-end
  • ADOS-trained with competence in observational assessment
  • Strong understanding of adult autism presentations, including masking and co-occurring conditions
  • Experience interpreting tools such as RAADS-R, CAT-Q and AQ-50
  • Excellent clinical report-writing skills
  • Commitment to neuro-affirming, evidence-based practice
  • Professional indemnity cover (or willingness to obtain)
  • Suitable private environment for remote assessments (if working remotely)
