Job Description

Service Care Solutions are supporting a national charity who are looking to recruita technical and dedicated Independent Prescriber.  Please find a description of the role below.Role: Independent PrescriberRate: £44 to £48 per hour (PAYE exc.) £50 to £55 per hour (umbrella)Location: SheffieldWorking: 4 days per week, 30 hours, Tuesday – FridayContract: 12 weeks ongoing Role Overview:

  • Conduct clinical assessments and prescribe a range of medications (including controlled drugs) in line with national and organisational guidelines.
  • Promote safe, cost-effective prescribing and provide expert advice to pharmacists, GPs, and hospital staff.
  • Deliver person-centred care planning, monitoring, and reviews in both clinic and outreach settings.
  • Support Blood Borne Virus (BBV) prevention through risk assessments, testing, counselling, and immunisation.
  • Provide harm reduction and health promotion interventions (e.g. safer sex, nutrition, healthy living).
  • Promote and deliver Hepatitis B vaccinations per national guidance.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure data security in line with service requirements.
  • Liaise with pharmacists and GPs, and support shared care arrangements.
  • Deliver clinical interventions across multiple sites and participate in outreach.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, clinical supervision, and training.
  • Support clinical governance, audits, and the implementation of best practices.
  • Contribute to research, service development, and learning dissemination.
