We’re proud to be working in partnership with a leading care provider to recruit a Children’s Home Manager for a small, well-established 2-bed EBD home in Plymouth. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior or Deputy Manager ready to take their first step into registration - with a strong Deputy and an experienced, committed team already in place.

Role: Registered Home Manager – Children’s Residential Care

Salary: up to £42,000

Bonus: 5k Welcome Bonus + 21% Annual Performance Bonus

Annual Leave: 32 days including Bank Holidays

Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role: You’ll lead a dedicated team supporting two boys (aged 14 and 15), both in long-term placements. The home is committed to providing consistent, therapeutic care that promotes growth, recovery and lasting positive outcomes. With a strong ethos of inspiring, encouraging, and supporting young people to achieve great things, you’ll be instrumental in creating a nurturing environment where children can lead happy, healthy and successful lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Build strong, therapeutic relationships with young people, fostering trust and resilience.
  • Mentor and develop the staff team, overseeing training, performance, and development.
  • Maintain compliance with safeguarding, regulatory and legislative standards.
  • Oversee budgets, resources and service development in line with organisational goals.
  • Work flexibly, including participating in the on-call rota as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a residential children’s care setting at a senior level.
  • Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards).
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding and The Children Act 1989.
  • Budget and financial oversight experience.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
