Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Compliance and Repair Surveyor to join their Housing Services team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a compliance and regulatory environment.The RoleKey purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality surveying services focused on mechanical safety and legionella compliance. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of statutory and regulatory obligations, ensuring the housing stock remains safe, compliant.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:• Delivering the annual £1m mechanical compliance and repairs programme across council housing stock• Managing mechanical and legionella safety inspections, including enforcement and regulatory processes• Providing expert technical guidance on safety legislation, policy compliance, and service delivery improvement• Support resident engagement activities by providing clear information on mechanical and legionella safety, promoting awareness and empowering residents to understand their responsibilities.• Maintain accurate records of inspections, risk assessments, and compliance activities, ensuring data integrity and contributing to audit readiness and regulatory reporting.The Candidate To be considered for this role, you will require:• A legionella/mechanical safety-related qualification, such as HNC in Construction and the Built Environment• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle• Proven experience in surveying and safety compliance within housing or public sector property environmentsThe below skills would be beneficial for the role:• Strong working knowledge of mechanical and legionella regulations affecting residential housing• Ability to carry out detailed inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skillsThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £30 per hour Umbrella Inside IR35 (approx. £23 per hour PAYE)How to ApplyIf this position sounds of interest, email a copy of your up-to-date CV to .uk or call Amy at Service Care Construction on to discuss the vacancy in more detail.Also, if this role is not of interest to you, but you are looking for new opportunities, please still get in touch as we cover all construction-related vacancies across the region.Referral BonusIf this role is not suitable for yourself, but you know someone who may be interested, please pass on their details or forward these details to them.
