Job Title: Fly Tipping Rapid Response OperativeLocation: SwindonContract Length: 12 Months (Highly Likely to be Extended)Pay Rate: £12.65 Per hour PAYE (inc Holiday) | £15.66 per hour LTD UmbrellaService Care Solutions are collaborating closely with a Local Authority in Swindon to appoint a Fly Tipping Rapid Response Operative on a 12-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension at the client’s discretion. We are in search of a proactive and reliable individual to join the Waste Services team, dedicated to maintaining Swindon’s public spaces clean, safe, and compliant with environmental regulations.Role Summary: The Fly Tipping Rapid Response Operative will swiftly respond to reports of fly-tipping throughout the borough. Responsibilities include the safe removal, investigation, and reporting of illegal waste disposal, contributing significantly to environmental protection and community support.Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly to fly-tipping reports and ensure safe waste removal.
  • Investigate incidents, gather evidence, and collaborate with enforcement teams as needed.
  • Safely operate vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety standards, council policies, and environmental laws.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in handling public inquiries and complaints.
Essential Requirements:
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Previous experience in waste management, environmental services, or rapid response operations.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations, fly-tipping legislation, and enforcement procedures.
  • Proficiency in safe equipment and vehicle operation, and waste management.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to handle pressure effectively.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Training or certification in manual handling, health & safety, or waste management.
  • Relevant qualification in Environmental Services, Waste Management, or Health & Safety.
