A client within the Public Sector based in North Yorkshire is currently recruiting for an Estates Surveyor to join their Strategic Property Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a property and estates environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide professional estate management services across a diverse land and property portfolio, supporting the Council’s strategic objectives and delivering effective asset utilisation, income generation, and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Managing a defined portfolio of operational, commercial, and rural assets.
- Leading on property transactions including acquisitions, disposals, leases, and licences.
- Undertaking valuations, rent reviews, negotiations, and estate rationalisation projects.
- Providing expert advice to internal stakeholders and senior officers.
- Supporting the implementation of the Corporate Landlord model.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
- Chartered Surveyor status (MRICS/FRICS) or equivalent
- Extensive experience in estate or asset management within the public sector or similar complex organisation
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
- Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and property law.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in leading projects and mentoring junior team members.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £45 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £37 per hour PAYE).
