Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Leicestershire is currently recruiting for an Estate and Asset Manager to join their Strategic Property Services team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within an Estates Management environment.The RoleKey purpose of the role is to provide expert estate and asset management services across a diverse public sector property portfolio, supporting strategic aims and delivering value for money through proactive lease management, valuation, and development advice.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing operational and non-operational estate assets including offices, schools, libraries, and industrial units.
  • Handling lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews, re-gears and inspections.
  • Undertaking complex valuations for a range of purposes including asset disposal and development appraisals.
  • Contributing to the Council’s investment programme and advising on property acquisition, disposal and development.
  • Providing timely reports to senior management and elected members.
  • Leading commercial land and property strategy to balance income generation, risk and long-term value.

The CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Land Management, Real Estate or a related field.
  • Full Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
  • Proven experience in local authority estates management.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

  • Experience with development appraisals, investment acquisitions and working with external consultants.
  • Registered Valuer status (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong understanding of landlord and tenant law, negotiation and estate strategy.
