A client within the Public Sector based in Cheshire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience working within a local authority environment, particularly in property and estate management.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to support the Building Services Team, contributing to both response maintenance work and the planned programme and capital works. Key Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Technically assess and add detail to response repair requests
  • Issue orders to contractors, monitor progress, and carry out quality checks on-site
  • Prepare specifications and tender documentation for maintenance, alteration, and construction works
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) to produce tender and contract drawings
  • Manage all aspects of projects from inception to completion

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • An HNC/HND in Building Studies (or equivalent) with evidence of working towards Chartered Membership (e.g., CIAT, ARB)
  • A good understanding of current construction standards, cost control, and procurement practices
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, NBS, NSR, and other computer-based programs

The following skills would be beneficial:

  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary building projects
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise workloads
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £35 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £28 per hour PAYE).
