A client within the Public Sector based in West Midlands is currently recruiting for a Technical Support Surveyor to join their Maintenance Operations Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, permanent position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a social housing/maintenance environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to support the delivery of high-quality repairs and maintenance services, ensuring compliance with regulations while providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Undertaking pre- and post-inspections and preparing schedules of works using NHF Schedule of Rates
- Carrying out damp and mould inspections in line with current legislation (including Awaab’s Law)
- Supervising and coordinating contractors to ensure works meet required standards and specifications
- Conducting health & safety inspections, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with HHSRS principles
- Managing customer enquiries and complaints, ensuring a high standard of service delivery
- Preparing technical specifications and supporting procurement processes
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
- HNC/HND or Degree in a Building-related subject
- IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional development in building/construction
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
- Strong knowledge of building construction, defects, and maintenance practices
- Experience working within social housing or a local authority environment
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and relevant health & safety legislation
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £45,074 per annum.
