Unit Role: Army Reserve Light Cavalry. To deploy personnel in support of operations both overseas and in the UK with Regular units as individuals and as contingents.
Position Role: Squadron Training Officer for A Sqn, in a Lt Cav Regt in York in NE England.
Responsibilities:
- Deputising for the Sqn Ldr/2IC.
- Responsible for writing and implementing the Sqn training programme in line with the Sqn Ldr's policy and adapting it as circumstances dictate.
- To make sure that all members of the Sqn training team are aware of their duties and fulfil them.
- To book all the necessary training resources in a timely manner so that the Sqn fulfils its annual training obligations successfully.
- To be trained in Armed Forces Equal Opportunities Policy and perform the duties of the Sqn Equal Opportunities Officer.
- Ensure that in all activities the Sqn has performed the relevant risk assessments for the activity concerned in peacetime and war.
- To act as Sqn Adventure Training Officer.
- Maintain current Army Values & Standards.
- Required to support Training Nights and weekend activities and the Annual Deployment Exercise.
