A vacancy has arisen for a Flight Lieutenant (Any) to serve as the Executive Officer at No 605 Squadron RAuxAF at RAF Cosford on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 3 Sep 26 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status).

As part of 2 Group, the Sqn’s role is to provide a cadre of RAuxAF Logistics and RAFP personnel to support the regular RAF on operations and exercises, both in the UK and overseas. The post holder will report directly to OC 605 Sqn. They will need to possess strong communication and organisational skills, have a confident manner and be comfortable engaging with both military and civilian personnel in various environments.

Their primary duties will include:

  • Deputise for the Sqn OC during any periods of absence.
  • As the Squadron Continuous Improvement lead.
  • Maintain a strategic overview of the Quality Improvement Programme.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Squadron Annual Training Plan.
  • Management of compliance of all matters governing Health and Safety, EDIA, Discipline and Welfare.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of the Squadron F540 each month and ensuring the submission to the Air Historical Branch.
  • Act as the Squadron Unit Employer Support Officer.
  • Be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Squadron Business Plan.
  • Oversee the provision of trained Logistics and RAF Police personnel to support the Sqn’s mandated output as directed by the Capability Owner, the Spt Fce Cdr and the Aviation Security FHQ.
  • Ensure every aspect of the Sqn’s training output is fit for purpose and satisfies all internal/external validation.
  • Create a cohesive, flexible and fully qualified Sqn permanent staff through strong leadership, effective management and ongoing development of all personnel under command.
  • Provide specialist knowledge, support and advice to relevant stakeholders on all matters relating to the Sqn.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including employers, to develop strong relationships that will enhance opportunities and ensure best use of resources.
  • Be the focal point for all mobilisation and tasking requests.
  • Strategic management of the Sqn’s HR and Employer Engagement functions and engagement with the Central RSW regarding recruitment.
