Working in support of the RAO, the RAWO provides key HR support in accordance with Defence, Army and Unit policies:

  • Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to the CO via the RAO and Adjt for day to day management and functional control of the Unit Admin Office and personnel employed within it.
  • Line Manager for civ HR staff employed within the UAO. Deliver continuous administrative training to Civilian Administrative Officers.
  • Lead for the technical aspects of SPS reserve training; identifying training opportunities/placement for SPS Reserve personnel as required.
  • Coordination of Unit Discipline and Administrative Action procedures, carrying out the duties of Staff Support Supervisor in support of the Adjt.
  • Deputise for RAO when required and assume appointments of Unit Imprest Holder and Regt Acct during absence of FSA.
  • Carry out the duties of LUMS Administrator for the Unit.
  • Ensure the Regiment are fully compliant in all aspects of the annual G1 Audit by ensuring the procedures contained in JSPs, Pers Admin Toolbox, QRs, The Reserve Land Forces Regulations and other relevant publications are correctly adhered to.
  • Responsible for implementing documentation & administration policy as stipulated by the chain of command including assisting the Adjt and RCMO where required to ensure correct procedures for MS matters (notably) ARs are implemented and processed.
  • Support the RCMO in the maintenance of the unit’s AF C8005 on JPA as the Unit Establishment Administrator and provide 1st line resettlement support to Regular personnel.
  • Ensure the Values and Standards of the British Army are upheld and maintained.
