A vacancy has arisen for a Sergeant, People Operations to serve as West HR Ops SNCO FTRS at West HR Ops Sqn, RAF Cosford on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 12 October 2026.
Air Human Resources (Air HR) deliver a National, centralised, professional and HR focused service to all Units (including parented populations) served by our HR Regions. All members of Air HR support the delivery of a unified, standardised, and assured HR Service that is ‘Air Power Driven and People Focused’, supports operational output, and meets the requirements of our personnel and their line managers, while championing self-service digital solutions, innovation and flexibility
Responsible for the management, delivery and assurance for one or more of the following HR Pillars within West HR Ops Region:
a. Recruits, Trainees & Reserves,
b. Pay, Movements and Terms and Conditions of Service (TCOS),
c. Commitments (Deployed Ops (Ias and Fus), FGen, CAL),
d. Appraisals.
Roles and Responsibilities are as follows:
a. Direct LM responsibility for all personnel within the AOR including reporting, training, development, welfare, discipline and standards.
b. Provide expert HR support and professional function to all personnel for the roles within the AOR iaw current regulations.
c. Manage customer submissions for the AOR, triaging and prioritising as required, ensure timely attention and completion.
d. Engage with HR Execs, policy leads within HQ Air, CapO, HR Spt & HR Assurance to ascertain, challenge and develop policy and processes as required.
e. Manage and complete JPA data assurance checks as provided by HR Spt, rectifying errors, and identifying trends, acting as POC for HR Spt & MIDA.
f. Mandate attendance of JNCO/AS1 cadre to attend HR Spt clinics.
g. Ensure your management checks are completed every month and registers are maintained iaw extant policy. Utilising the HR Spt Dashboards for Assurance, Management Checks and CI.
h. Undertake Duty Senior HR Ops role, acting as JCCC SME as required in support of the Duty HR Operator.
