Subject to formal funding approval and Establishment a post has arisen for one WO (Any) to serve within the Culture Coherence Team as a WO Culture and CA facilitator at High Wycombe on Additional Duties Commitment Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 February 2027 or earlier/later subject to candidate status.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to two of the RAF's key people and culture initiatives. The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the delivery of Climate Assessments across the RAF, whilst also helping shape and deliver the RAF-wide Culture Coherence Programme as it continues to develop and mature.
The role is anticipated to be split approximately 50% Climate Assessments and 50% Culture Coherence activity, providing a unique opportunity to engage with personnel at all levels whilst supporting strategic culture activity across the Service.
Climate Assessment Responsibilities
Climate Assessments are a Commanding Officer's tool used to understand the lived experience of personnel within their unit. Combining survey data with facilitated Insight Sessions, they provide valuable evidence to inform local and strategic action.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Facilitating Insight Sessions with personnel of all ranks and grades, including senior officers up to 1* level, at RAF Stations and Units across the UK.
- Supporting Climate Assessment Leads in gathering workforce insight and identifying key themes.
- Providing feedback to Visit Leads to support the production of reports, presentations and senior leader briefings.
- Engaging with key stakeholders including Command Teams, Station Warrant Officers, Welfare Committees and specialist communities.
- Supporting the delivery of Climate Assessments across other Defence organisations where required.
Culture Coherence Responsibilities
The RAF Culture Coherence Programme seeks to strengthen understanding, alignment and delivery of the RAF's cultural ambitions across the Service.
Working alongside key stakeholders from across Air Command, the successful candidate will:
- Support the delivery of the RAF-wide Culture Coherence Programme.
- Lead and coordinate specific project workstreams and initiatives within the Culture Coherence portfolio.
- Engage with stakeholders across the RAF to support cultural improvement activity and share good practice.
- Contribute to governance activity, workshops, working groups and briefing events.
- Assist in the development of communication products and engagement activities that support culture change and coherence across the RAF.
This is an excellent time to join the programme as the RAF continues to embed and develop its approach to culture, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to contribute directly to work that impacts personnel across the Service.
Working Arrangements
The role is envisaged to require 180 days per year.
Candidates should expect to travel regularly throughout the UK to support Climate Assessment activity, typically spending approximately one week per month undertaking station visits. Overnight travel will therefore be required. The team seeks to utilise Service accommodation wherever possible; however, hotel accommodation will be arranged where necessary.
Outside of planned Climate Assessment engagement activity, working arrangements are flexible and will be agreed with the successful candidate.
