A vacancy may arise for a Wing Commander (Any Profession) to serve as 2 Gp Reserves Wg Cdr Reserve Support Wings at RAF High Wycombe on Part Time Volunteer Reserve (PTVR) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 10 August 2026. As 2 Gp Reserves Wg Cdr RSWs you are part of the 2 Gp Reserves HQ Team working to ACOS 2 Gp Reserves. Reporting to Gp Capt RSWs, you are responsible for supporting the control and management of four RSWs, ensuring the effective delivery of RAF Reserves recruitment, Phase 1 training and future RSW support provision. You will also be responsible for liaison and collaborative working with key stakeholders, higher headquarters and Reserve facing civilian organisations as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Act as OF4 lead for RSW operations, development and employment.
- Act as a point of contact for RSW and 2 Gp Reserves Air Base planning activity.
- Promote the development of reservist utility and support policy development to maximise 2 Gp’s reserve outputs.
- Support the development and delivery of wider Reserves focused planning and development activities.
- Provide Reserve SME advice to HQ 2 Gp Comd Air Bases.
- Within existing C2 constructs, support the professional development (mentoring as required) of PTVR and Reserve staff delivering in support of 2 Gp.
- Support the staffing of specific reservist Honours and Awards within 2 Gp.
- Support 2 Gp employer engagement, recognition schemes and RFCA activity.
