A vacancy has arisen for a Flight Lieutenant (Logistics) to serve as SO3 Airlift Support (Charter) at MOD Abbey Wood on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCo S), with an initial proposed start date of 01 February 2027.
Manage the acquisition, allocation and tasking of Airlift Charter Requirements to provide the lift necessary to move Mo D-authorised personnel and freight in support of operations, exercises and routine sustainment of military bases worldwide.
SO3 Airlift Support (Charter) is responsible for
• Contract Manager for various commercial airlift contracts including
- Airlift Services Framework Agreement (ASF)
- Ad Hoc Charter Contracts
- Ad Hoc MCCE and SALIS Requests
- Assure the safety and governance of chartered aircraft, maintaining the highest possible standards of Flight Safety iaw the RA1167.
- Seek opportunities to combine and rationalise aircraft tasks to achieve maximum utility and value for money
- whilst still meeting the task requirements.
- Oversee resource allocation and personnel management within the airlift charter team.
- Monitor contract performance through contract review meetings with key stakeholders
