A vacancy has arisen for a Squadron Leader (Ground Combat & Security Profession (GCSP) to serve as SO2 RAF Regt Reserves at RAF HONINGTON on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 15 February 2027.
The incumbent will serve as the primary liaison for RAF Regiment Reserves, acting within the RAF Regt Profession Advisor Team to connect RAF Regt Force HQ, Reserves Force Elements via No 20 FP Wg HQ, and RAF Reserves HQ. They will be subject matter expert on reserve policy, training, and force generation for all RAF Regt reserves.
The following outlines the requirements for this post:
- Represent RAF Regt Reserves in the development and maintenance of Global Enablement (GE) and force-level plans and policies.
- Lead RAF Regt Reserves’ input to structural reviews, policy development and Reserves concepts and initiatives.
- Act as Champion/SME for Reserves within RAF GE, co-ordinating advice on PTVR/FTRS/VeRR across the FP Force.
- Ensure that RAF Regt Reserves are integrated into RAF GE contributions to DSD, RAF Command Plan and related policies.
- Lead RAF Regt Reserves’ responses to RAF GE, SDSRs, ABCs, Strategic Manpower Reviews, Reserve Steering Groups and similar processes.
- Provide SME support on Reserves to the RAF Regt Profession Advisors and FP Force Elements.
- Maintaining oversight of Reservist establishments within RAF Regt Force and coordinate their capability contribution to the wider FP Force.
