A vacancy has arisen for a Squadron Leader βAnyβ to serve as SO2 Media Plans at HQ Air, Air Media and Communications on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 28 September 2026 or earlier if availability allows.
ACAS Air Media and Communications deliver the RAF Communications Strategy across all communication channels in order to maintain and raise the RAF's reputation. The main requirements of this role are to act as part of the HQ Plans Team, co-ordinating output across the HQ and with key stakeholders such at DDC and 7644 Sqn.
SO2 Media Plans is responsible for the day-to-day planning and co-ordination of key departmental functions. As the first point of contact for the department, the SO2 Plans works across all Air Media areas, relying on strong relationships within Air and wider MoD departments to achieve positive outcomes.
The job specifications are as follows:
- Liaison and engagement with key stakeholders to identify key strategic events and activities and inform the Air Media & Comms delivery plan.
- Strategic level planning and co-ordination of reserve media resources on behalf of AHd External Comms
- Single Service focal point for media training at the Joint Information Activity Group, inc teaching single service aspect of the Joint Media Practitioners Course
- Plan and maintain the Air Media aspects of Op BRIDGE, with regular reviews and exercising with key stakeholders
- Operational HQ coord & direction for Stn MCOs across the entire Service
- Task planning, coordination and tracking on behalf of Air for liaison with the Directorate of Defence Communications.
