Position Role: Responsible to Chief of Staff AITC to conduct assurance for AITC & LWC on Op Gp HQs and Individual Training Establishments (ITEs) on behalf of GOC AITC and DLW.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Combined Individual Training Assurance Team (CITAT).
  • Be the lead auditor for the assurance of ITEs and their Op Gp HQs; this requires SP to spend nights away with some audits lasting up to 5 days. Some weekend work is also required.
  • Conduct all administrative requirements to support CITAT activities including management of staff reports and delivering a capability improvement plan.
  • Provide advice on the assurance of ITEs to TSLD, Army HQ, HQ AITC, HQ LWC and Op Gp / ITE staff, SIs and OFSTED.
  • Conduct targeted reviews / desk level analysis / distance audits (incl video interviews) of ITEs as directed under the assurance programme and in response to risks identified through Service Inquiries.
  • Produce comprehensive, accurate and timely assurance reports on ITEs that identify non-compliance and non-conformity, areas for development and sharing good practices. Hold to account ITEs against action plans and close down audits.
  • Liaise with TSLD, Army HQ, the Army Inspectorate, Single Services and welfare SMEs on assurance matters.
  • Liaise with Ofsted on actions arising from their inspections of ITEs in the Army TLB.
  • Represent CITAT and/or Deputise for COS AITC at SGs and WGs and on the Army Safeguarding Board.
  • Represent GOC AITC and DLW on APC MS7 grading and selection for appointment boards from OR6 to OF3.
