The Regimental Secretary is to lead and manage the Regimental Home Headquarters (HHQ) of the RTR and to act as the principal Staff Officer to the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment. A detailed knowledge of the Royal Armoured Corps and its regiments, including all customs and practices, is essential for this post.
Domestic Considerations: HHQ RTR office based (Mon-Fri) with some travel. Someone based in the Tidworth catchment area would also be considered. Occasional WFH. In office Line Management duties are required. This post demands a highly motivated, self-starter. An innovative thinker, with an inherently flexible approach, able to balance competing stakeholder needs.
Responsibilities:
- Act as Secretariat for the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment.
- Maintain and enhance Regimental pride, ethos and reputation.
- Support to the Regimental Association.
- Support to commemorative and ceremonial tasks.
- Provide support to Colonels in Chief.
- Maintain Regimental history.
- Support Regimental museum (The Tank Museum).
- Manage Regimental property.
- Undertake archive management.
- Support Regimental Association activities and Guidon parades.
- Undertake Regimental marketing.
- Support to Regimental music (Ps&Ds).
- Provide welfare and benevolence (to Regular, Reserve and Retired).
- Support to ROG.
- Support to families of the bereaved and WIS.
- Support to legacy investigations.
- Manage Regimental non-public funds.
- Conduct Civil Engagement.
- Support recruiting.
