Position Role: The RAO is responsible to the CO for the routine provision of Staff and Personnel Support (SPS) to the unit whilst in barracks, on ADE and where permitting whilst the unit is deployed (the RAO post is FTRS(HC)).

Responsibilities:

1. In addition to the specific responsibilities detailed below, undertake the standard core AGC(SPS) responsibilities expected of a FTRS(HC) OF2/3 RAO of a Reserve Unit IAW AGC(SPS) Corps trade specifications/directives. This includes any reasonable tasks as directed by the SPS or Unit CoC.

2. Provide direction for/support to the RAWO: Ensuring they manage the technical competence and career development of all Reserve AGC(SPS) and Civilian HR Admin pers.

3. SPS Support: Ensuring support is efficient and meets the unit’s needs.

4. G1 Issues: Implement new policy and deal with cases not covered by the regulations.

5. Military/Civilian Staff: Act as 1RO for the FTRS(HC) PSAOs, RCMO, RAWO and the D Band FSA.

6. Financial: Act as Internal Auditor for unit Non-Public Service Funds. Act as Imprest Checking Officer for Public Funds. Audit JPA Expenses and arrange for or produce Unit Financial Standing Orders where appropriate.

7. Data Protection/MODNet IT: Control of unit assets on the AIAR, act as DPA, PVRO, MODNet AD/LSO (backup AD/LSO for Dets as well) and JPA focal point.

8. Reasonable additional tasks: As expected of FTRS(HC) OF2/3 and within the confines of RLFs.

9. Be prepared to travel to the Dets to undertake checks and audits associated with the RAO role. Be prepared to attend ADE and Regimental Weekends at locations other than RHQ.
