Subject to ECR approval, a vacancy may arise for a Warrant Officer, Any Trade to serve as RAFSC Information and Digital Capability Manager at RAF Honington on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 February 2027.

The RAF Safety Centre provides independent safety assurance to the Chief of the Air Staff and wider Air Command. Through its aviation, land and functional safety activities, the organisation delivers assurance, oversight and professional training across the Royal Air Force, identifying risk, promoting organisational learning and providing evidence-based assurance to improve safety performance and operational effectiveness.

The Information & Digital Capability Manager is the RAF Safety Centre's lead for Information Management, digital capability and AI-enabled innovation. Acting as the principal adviser on Information Management governance, compliance and best practice, the post holder will lead the development and assurance of the organisation's information environment, drive digital transformation initiatives and coordinate the safe, effective and compliant adoption of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence. The role is pivotal in ensuring that information, data and digital capabilities are managed as strategic assets that support assurance, decision-making and organisational effectiveness across the Safety Centre.

Responsible for:

  • Acting as the RAF Safety Centre lead for Information & Digital Capability Management.
  • Providing authoritative advice on Defence Information Management policy, governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Developing and maintaining local Information Management instructions, processes and governance frameworks.
  • Leading and coordinating AI innovation and implementation across the RAF Safety Centre, acting as the principal SME for AI opportunities and providing advice, governance and oversight of AI-enabled projects.
  • Managing and assuring SharePoint, Teams and Microsoft 365 information environments.
  • Conducting Information Management assurance activities, compliance audits and improvement initiatives.
  • Delivering Information Management training, awareness activities and professional guidance across the RAF Safety Centre.
  • Leading digital transformation initiatives and promoting the adoption of modern, efficient ways of working.
  • Representing the RAF Safety Centre at Defence Information Management, digital capability and AI-related forums, working groups and stakeholder meetings.
