Job description
The RAF Regt Fce HQ A6 SNCO is responsible to SO3 A6 for supporting the coordination, integration, and delivery of communications and information systems capability across RAF Regiment Forces.
The post holder will assist with the management of current and future A6 projects, capability development activities, trials, training, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring communications systems and associated capabilities remain aligned with RAF Regiment operational requirements and wider Defence objectives.
The role provides staff support, coordination, and subject matter expertise to enable effective delivery of the RAF Regiment A6 portfolio.

- Support SO3 A6 in the planning and coordination of enduring and future A6 projects across RAF Regiment Forces.
- Assist in the integration and fielding of BOWMAN and emerging communications systems in support of operational requirements.
- Maintain effective liaison with project teams, working groups, capability leads, and RAF Regiment stakeholders to support project delivery and information exchange.
- Monitor project milestones, actions, and reporting requirements, providing updates and recommendations to SO3 A6.
- Support the coordination of BOWMAN equipment upgrades, capability enhancements, and associated fielding activities.
- Assist in the planning, administration, conduct, and reporting of communications system trials and evaluation activities.
- Capture lessons identified from operational activities and support their incorporation into future capability development.
- Conduct research and analysis into emerging communication technologies and alternative communications solutions.
- Support the integration of communications capabilities that enhance CAGE effectiveness, ISTAR connectivity, and interoperability with RAF and Joint Force platforms.
- Provide staff support to working groups, boards, and meetings relating to communications capability development.
- Support the development, coordination, and delivery of communications systems training for RAF Regiment personnel.
- Liaise with RAF Regiment Force Elements, Headquarters staff, and wider RAF organisations to promote coherent capability integration and information sharing.
- Maintain accurate records, project documentation, reports, and supporting staff work on behalf of SO3 A6.
- Deputise for SO3 A6 when required and represent the function at meetings and working groups as directed.
- Conduct unit visits when required.
