The Training Management Group is a joint RN-industry organisation, providing the basis of a Whole Force approach to RN individual training delivery. The TMG is accountable for the effective and efficient governance, control and commercial delivery of the Selborne contract.

Responsibilities

  • Support the PACC WO in delivering the development and implementation of Apprenticeship Standards across the Royal Navy (RN).
  • Support the PACC WO in the development and implementation of Engineering (ENG) Apprenticeship Standards across the RN in support of PACC objectives.
  • Engage with ENG Branch Managers to enhance trade-specific apprenticeship frameworks.
  • Represent the RN at industry ‘Occupational’ groups, influencing the development of national apprenticeship standards to align where possible with RN requirements.
  • Explore opportunities to better align ENG apprenticeships and accreditation to career courses.
  • Deliver apprenticeship and accreditation briefs and presentations to units and course personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with national Apprenticeship policy and regulatory requirements and identify and deliver opportunities to align ENG Apprenticeships with operational needs and Government skills priorities.
  • Represent the RN at external forums (e.g. Apprenticeship awards, workshops, Tri-Service groups, Ambassador Network) to share best practice and benchmark performance.
  • As required, to undertake Establishment duties in accordance with their rank or rate.
  • To support the PACC in the effective delivery of tasks across the command, aligned with the duties and expectations of a CPO.

Local Considerations

  • Away from home at least once per month for Training Establishment visits.
