Provide safe and effective military diving training to all navy divers.

Position Role: Assist the Diving Officer and Senior Military Diving Instructor with the delivery of DDS course programmes (Diving Project Plans) as required, IAW JSP 286 Pt 1 and 2.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the In Water Instructor during student diving serials.
  • Carry out the duties of surface support staff during diving training.
  • Monitor the trainees and ensure safe practices are followed.
  • Assist in the operation of Compression Chambers when directed by the SMDI.
  • Act as safety number within TMCC as required.
  • Remain current and competent in all diving equipment being taught.
  • Drive boats and other vehicles as qualified in support of training delivery.
  • Carry out DDS security and ceremonial duties as required.
  • Remain current and competent in all diving equipment maintenance for SCADE, OSDS and CDLSE (RN ONLY).

Pre Appt/Deployment Trg:

  • Be an AB(D).
  • Be current in all diving equipment types being taught under their Project Plan(s).

Care Of Trainee Qualification:

  • Qualified MIB Boat Coxswain (Sea 115).
