PURPOSES
Primary Purpose: To plan and supervise A&A’s to entitled vessels during their FTSP’s.
Secondary Purposes: To provide backup engineering support for NATO visiting ships and other entitled vessels who are in port to commence their OST.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Provide project management and leadership to oversee the delivery of A&A’s for entitled vessels in Plymouth.
AUTHORITY
To commit engineering work upon receipt of a WRF to main service provider to rectify B2 OPDEFS.
TASKS
- Plan, supervise and deliver fleet time fit A&A’s to entitled vessels.
- Liase between Abbeywood, FTSG and ships staff.
- Engineering support work in FTSP, non FTSP and unprogrammed work.
- Ensure compliance with current Health and safety and hygiene standards.
- Supervise subordinate ratings to ensure completion of tasks.
- Support OST desk when required to support visiting ships in OST.
ESTABLISHMENT DUTIES
The post holder will carry out the following Establishment Duties:
- Carry out duties of the SFM duty engineer.
- Undertake RN duties as required.
Part 2: Key Change Objectives
During the next 12 months, the post holder is to direct his efforts to achieve his primary and secondary purposes, with the following specific targets: Deliver rectification of OPDEFs for visiting ships undergoing OST as soon as possible as not to add serious delays to the ship’s sea training.
