Lead ISTAR and Information Manoeuvre staff officer in HQ 7 Lt Mech Bde, providing timely and tactically aware ISTAR advice to inform HQ outputs. Also lead for CAPDEV and capability risk including UGV and UAS. High profile SO2 appointment in the HQ with regular engagement with the 1* Comd. The Bde currently has a high NATO readiness commitment and training progression. The incumbent will be the main networker for CAPDEV and working with ETG and Pj RAPSTONE.
- Lead staff officer in HQ 7 Lt Mech Bde for all ISTAR and Information Manoeuvre (Info Mvre) related matters.
- Link to the Bde aligned MI Section and line manager for SO3 ISTAR.
- Lead for Light Mechanised CAPDEV and capability risk including the LM Lethality Working Group.
- Project lead as required. For 2026 this is likely to be UGV, FPV and SUAS.
- Support FTX planning and lead for TFH exercise design and execution.
- Produce and maintain 1* Info Mvre policy; plan and deliver Info Manoeuvre training to OPCOM units.
- (Deployable Role) Lead on decision support to the Comd, including the creation of the decision support overlay (DSO), Decision Support Matrix (DSM) and Decision Support Overlay Matrix (DSOM).
- (Deployable role) Deploy as SO2 ISTAR in 1* Main CP; lead a CoA team during 1* planning cycles, assist G5 branch on training and operations as directed by Comd/COS.
