A vacancy has arisen for a Sergeant Engineer (Any) to serve as SNCO CESRT at RAFC Cranwell on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 05 October 2026.

RAF Recruitment and Selection’ Mission is to attract and select for training the diversity, quantity and quality of people necessary to sustain RAF operational capability. SNCO CESRT will work within HQ R&S Specialised Recruiting Team to support the Recruiting Force and Professions Advisor’s Teams to select and recruit all Engineering and Cyberspace roles (Regular).

Specifically, upon successful completion of the RAF Recruiting Course at RAF Cranwell (unless already completed), SNCO CESRT will be responsible through Chief of Staff Specialist Recruiting Teams (COS SRT) to RF Commander the following aspects of Recruitment and Selection:

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Optimise the Engineering and Cyberspace Recruitment Strategy for the Engineering and Cyberspace Officer roles to meet the Into Training Requirement (ITR).
  2. Propose and project manage new recruitment initiatives to meet Officer Engineering and Cyberspace ITRs.
  3. Provide SME advice to the Marketing Dept to ensure all Officer Engineering and Cyberspace material is accurate, up to date and promotes the specialisation in the best light.
  4. Establish and maintain close relationships with the Engineering and Cyberspace Professions Advisors, acting as focal point for all Officer recruitment queries.
  5. Act as the focal point for professional advice concerning the RAF Engineering and Cyberspace Officer roles within HQ R&S.
  6. Any other duties detailed by Gp Capt R&S, COS and XO.
  7. Work collectively with nine Specialist Recruitment Teams (SRTs) and support the strategies to ensure the PATs are fully equipped for Armed Forces Recruitment, in April 2027.
