Subject to formal establishment, Joint Boarding process and sS Policies a vacancy will arise for an OF3 to serve as SO2 International at IWC Joint Doctrine, MOD Shrivenham on FTRS (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 Sep 26 for 24 months (or earlier/later, subject to formal establishment and candidate status).
Unit Function: To optimise and adapt the current integrated force, through concepts and warfare development, supporting UK and NATO joint commanders to achieve operational advantage over adversaries, across the continuum of competition.
Position Role: Joint Doctrine β support the provision of authoritative threat informed NATO and UK strategic and operational-level doctrine to inform PME and guide operations. Core responsibility to deliver international engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide the staff lead for planning and delivering joint doctrine workshops.
- Liaise with OGDs, academic community, JSCSC and the wider doctrine user community for planning and conduct of joint doctrine development.
- Create and maintain templates for NATO and non-NATO workshop delivery.
- Explore AI and technical solutions for joint doctrine writing and exploitation.
- Scope the options for validating an official training offer either for NATO or national training.
- Provide generalist and specialist advice to other doctrine writers at IWC and single-service warfare centres.
- Contribute to wider NATO, MOD and IWC work as required.
- Deputise for SO1 Programmes as required.
