A vacancy has arisen for a Flight Sergeant / Sgt (Any Profession) – however, preference will be given to People Ops (Pers Spt) - to serve as Royal Air Force Division Adjutant at the Joint Services Command and Staff College (JSCSC) Defence Academy (Def Ac) Shrivenham on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date 07 September 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status).

The unit mission is to provide world-class Command and Staff education and training, in order to enhance operational capability, thereby advancing the Defence and Security interests of the United Kingdom.

The Mission of the Royal Air Force Division is to provide world-class professional military education to ensure Defence grows successful Air- and Space-minded leaders at the tactical and operational-level of command.

The Role responsibilities are:

  • Responsible for the Administrative management and support of the RAF Division including the staff induction process, including Reserves and compilation of the F540.
  • Staff work to assist the Director RAF Division, including Sec for the Cmd Gp.
  • Succession planning for all FTRS posts & liaison with Air Cmd for Regular posts.
  • Uphold standards across the Div consisting of mainly OF3 level officers; including maintenance of SOPs, ToRs and Job Specs.
  • Maintaining the Div Personnel Tracker, tracking postings, welfare matters, staff reports and Mandatory training. Focal point for establishment issues.
  • Arranging attendance of Air Offs and Commanding Offs for IOD (P); production of VI and liaison with COS Pers Bus Team, JSCSC Protocol and outer office staff.
  • Long term budget planning for the annual budget (AP0) and day-to-day management of Div budget matters (inc Business Cases, Fee Earners and support to income generation).
  • Dep JSCSC SHEF rep and SHEF Rep for RAFD. This includes assimilation and dissemination of functional safety information impacting the Div.
