A vacancy has arisen for a Flt Lt (Aircrew – Pilot (AM) / WSO (AM)) to serve as 11Gp A35 AARC 2 at RAF BRIZE NORTON on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of being not before 11 January 2027 (or later, subject to candidate status).
The AARC are responsible for planning and executing the deployment/recovery of all RAF Fast Jet assets that require Air to Air refuelling to reach their destination. Tasks can be large multi sector/day trips, travelling as far as West coast USA or to North Australia with night stops all over the globe. They can also be short sharp deployments with a much more operational focus closer to home.
The role is under 11Gp Command, and all tasks will remain under 11Gp OPCON with TACON delegated to the AARC who is executing. Due to this, the role is extremely high profile; managing projects, resolving problems and making decisions will be the pillars to success in this role.
This role requires a duty person to be available on a rotational basis from the UK which is very much managed internally to suit the team’s needs.
