A vacancy has arisen for a Flt Lt (Any) to serve as SO3 ANVIL II Dep Project Manager at RAF High Wycombe on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 07 September 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status). This is a staff officer, project manager role, working within AIR Cap and Progs, HQ Air Cmd but located at RAF Marham.

As the appointment falls under the UK F-35 Lightning Second Procurement Programme, you will be working for and reporting to the Air Capability Combat Air, SO2 ANVIL II PM whilst directly supporting the infrastructure requirements of the Lightning Force at RAF Marham. There will be occasional requirement to visit HQ AIR but T&S rules will apply. Routinely the outputs required of this role can be delivered on a remote working or hybrid basis, according to Service need and the needs of the individual.

This appointment offers an exciting opportunity for the right person to have a direct impact on the support to the Lightning Force and its operational outputs.

  • Working with the Ltng Force on behalf of the Ltng Pg PM assisting the SO2 ANVIL II PM with governance and oversight of the ANVIL II Infrastructure Project.
  • Assisting with the infrastructure definition and plans for further intended Lightning Force growth.
  • Supporting the wider Pg Team through the responsible ownership and currency of the ANVIL II artefacts, schedule infrastructure designs and solutions, to assure configuration control and a single truth is maintained throughout DPO, Procurement, Approvals and construction.
  • Informing the Programme schedule for key activities and milestones for the ANVIL II infrastructure project.
  • Ensuring that CIS delivery and infrastructure is planned to minimise (as far as is practicable) the risks of concurrent operations and construction activities.
  • Managing LF communications in conjunction with the Stn lead, and wider stakeholder engagement (e.g. AIR Cap, AIR Infra, CAFHQ, RAF Marham) and other specialist staffs as necessary to co-ordinate and ensure coherence between the Lightning Programme, CAFHQ, and stn operations.
  • Support requirements for the JPO, for example, with regard to arrangements for information exchange, Site Readiness Reviews and other site visits.
  • Support the SO2 with all necessary information exchange, required for visitor and contractor access and site visits.
