To deliver high-quality leadership, management and military training that develops professionally competent, motivated and operationally effective Junior and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers in accordance with Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and REME Arms School standards.
Key Tasks:
- Training Delivery: Plan, prepare and deliver leadership, management, military and professional development training in accordance with authorised Training Objectives (TOs) and Lesson Specifications (LSpecs). Facilitate classroom, practical and discussion-based learning to maximise student engagement and learning outcomes. Deliver distributed and centralised ALDP training as directed.
- Assessment and Assurance: Conduct formative and summative assessments against course requirements. Provide timely, constructive and developmental feedback to students. Maintain currency and compliance with DSAT, JSP 822 and local training assurance processes.
- Student Development: Act as a role model, coach and mentor to trainees. Foster Army Values and Standards, inclusivity, discipline and professional behaviours. Support trainee welfare, duty of care and personal development throughout training.
- Training Support: Research, develop and update lesson material, training aids and supporting documentation. Resource and coordinate training activities, exercises and visits as directed. Support course administration and maintain accurate training records.
- Instructional Excellence: Maintain Defence Trainer qualifications and instructional competence. Participate in observations, standardisation activities and continuous professional development. Contribute to continuous improvement of training delivery.
- Additional Responsibilities: Conduct mandatory annual military training as required. Deputise for the Senior Instructor when directed. Undertake secondary duties and represent REME Arms School in accordance with unit requirements.
